Dr Mariusz Baran

is law graduate of the Jagiellonian University (2007). He holds a doctoral degree in law (2013) and is an adjunct (2015) in Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Dr Baran is a lecturer in the Center of Environmental Law at the Jagiellonian University for many years. His interests include: environmental law and EU law with special focus on responsibility in environmental law. He is author and co-author of nearly 40 publications on environmental law and EU law, such as „The application of the European Union law on the ex officio basis by national courts” (Warsaw 2014). Doctor Baran is the recipient of the first prize in the XLIX National Competition of "Państwo i Prawo" for the best doctoral thesis (2014) as well as scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Republic of Poland for outstanding young scientists (2015) and principal investigator in research project entitled "Causal link" as a premise for liability in environmental law” (2017) financed by the National Science Centre of Poland. Dr Baran is membership of the Research Network on EU Administrative Law and the European Environmental Law Forum.
